In summer, our skin is particularly exposed to the sun’s rays. It can happen to anyone, regardless of how careful they are, that they are burned by the sun. Sunburn is proven to be harmful to our skin, and our face is one of the most exposed parts. Did you know that our Lepa Vida peel-off face masks have a cooling effect and are therefore an excellent summer skincare product?
The face masks contain sodium alginate, which is extracted from brown algae (Laminaria hyperborea) and is a natural active ingredient used for both cosmetic and nutritional purposes. Alginate gives our masks a peel-off function, moisturises and soothes the skin, improves lymphatic circulation, and helps the absorption of other actives. Among these, we highlight in particular the salt-pan mud, grape seed extract, spirulina blue-green algae, and activated charcoal. However, it is sodium alginate itself that enriches our face masks with a cooling effect, which is particularly welcome after sunbathing or other intensive skin treatments.
After using the mask, which moisturises and soothes the skin, we also recommend applying a thin layer of the Hydrating Face Cream with Brine, which is an excellent facial treatment in all seasons. It contains carotenoids (ß-carotene and astaxanthin) derived from extracts of the salt-pan microalgae Dunaliella salina and the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis. These reduce the inflammatory response of the skin caused by overexposure to UV rays. With its moisturising actives, the brine face cream is an excellent after-sun treatment for the face, helping to maintain our skin’s youthful appearance. It is also recommended to apply it before sun exposure (before SPF sunscreen), as it contains Pongamia glabra seed oil, which helps to naturally protect the skin from UV rays.
