Štajersko Prekmursko Pumpkin Seed Oil from Slovenia with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) is an unrefined oil made by pressing roasted seeds of Cucurbita pepo pumpkins grown in the Štajerska and Prekmurje regions. It is characterized by its deep green to reddish colour, rich aroma, and distinctive, full-bodied flavour.
At the Kocbek oil mill, traditional production methods have been preserved for generations, ensuring the highest quality of pumpkin seed oil. The mill works closely with local Slovenian pumpkin growers to maintain authenticity and excellence.
During the hot-pressing process, the pumpkin seeds are ground using genuine stone mills. This method results in an oil that is darker in colour, thicker in texture, and unique in taste.
